Preparing for Valentine’s Day

With all the snow days around here, we had to find something creative and fun to entertain the children.  We have always created our own Valentine’s and this year proved to be no different.  Although it may cost more, it is unbelievable how excited the kids get every year trying to decide what to create for a Valentine’s day card.  This year we decided it took way to much power to think of our own idea so we resorted to the internet for K’s.  The idea came from the following link:  http://familyfun.go.com/crafts/rock-candy-675037/ Enjoy the sneak peek.

The finished product…

We used candy hearts, red construction paper, foil, Reece’s peanut butter cups, ribbon cord and the ipod template.  To make the earbuds look more realistic we wrapped the Reeces candy in foil.  After taping the earbuds to the ribbon cord, we attached the ribbon cord to the rock candy and then wrapped the rock candy in red construction paper.

Once that was complete, we cut out and glued on our ipod play list and dial. This template can be found at: http://familyfun.go.com/crafts/rock-candy-675037/  You will need to insert your own songs of course but the template is printable straight from the website.

C’s Valentine was just a little bit easier to create.  For his all we did was purchase candy items, cello bags and white construction paper.  We measured the top of the cello bags and created our own design.  He loves Mario so wouldn’t you know it, his Valentine’s cards had to include Mario.

The finished product…

Enjoy-

Brandy

Atchison Family

Ahhhh the Atchison family!  I have nothing but positive to say about this family.  Nearly four years ago the older sone {T} was in my 3rd grade class.  Instantly, I developed a love for this family.  Then, three years later I had {N} as one of my students.  I love having repeated families in my classroom….and what a special treat for me to have them visit me at my “other” job as well.  Thanks for a great day Atchison family.

Krauss family

I LOVE meeting new clients!  It’s part of the excitement for me!  Until the family walks through the door, I have already thought about what I might do with the family.  This beautiful family had two adorable little boys.  The little one did not like my camera at all at first, but it didn’t take long for him to warm up.  When the family left the studio, I even got a big hug from my new little friend!

{A} Family

I always get super excited when clients come back each year for portraits.  This family and I have had some serious fun in the past.  I was able to take maternity portraits, newborn portraits and now family portraits.  Although little Miss C wanted nothing to do with the camera, we still caught some amazing portraits of her.  What a perfect little family!
